Hummingbird Additive was founded by two aerospace professionals in engineering and manufacturing. Their experience covers spacecraft application development, technology management, and customer support, including managing multiple programs to qualify and fly production parts in a historically conservative industry.
Jillian Gorsuch co-founded Hummingbird Additive and focuses on AM Strategies and Applications. Previously, she served as Technology Manager for Space System/Loral's (now Maxar Technologies) Additive Center of Excellence, transforming the way new hardware could be designed and implemented for spacecraft. She earned her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University as well as her Graduate Certificate in Space Systems Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. She has years of experience in the satellite industry working on tooling, communication, solar, and structural products. In 2017, Jillian became the Technology Manager, leading SSL’s AM product development initiatives and guiding the company’s strategy across multiple product lines. In 2018, she was honored to receive a Promise Award from the Space and Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) organization. Now through Hummingbird Additive, Jillian helps manufacturing clients improve their business through innovative AM products and capabilities.
Gregory Dudder co-founded Hummingbird Additive and focuses on metal Materials and Processes. Previously, Dr. Dudder served as the Principal Materials and Processes Engineer for Space System/Loral's (now Maxar Technologies) Additive Center of Excellence. He earned his Ph.D. and Master’s in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Florida after receiving his Bachelor’s degree in the same discipline from the University of Washington. Dr. Dudder began his career as a composite materials and process engineer at Boeing Commercial Airplanes. He joined SSL in 2013, where he managed flight qualifications for multiple manufacturing technologies from initial studies, through customer adoption, and production. Now with Hummingbird Additive, Gregory is partnering with clients to cost-effectively implement production methods that surpass existing market standards.
